Rapid Drug Detox Center can help free you from Nucynta® (tapentadol) Addiction
This is a new schedule ll narcotic, similar to other opiates, it was approved just recently by the FDA, for pain therapy.
For the relief of moderate to severe acute pain in patients 18 years of age or older.
It's been described as 'tramadol on steroids'. It was developed by Grunenthal a german company, the same company that came up with tramadol It seems to have a similar make-up to that drug, with the dual opioid/non-opioid effect. Nucynta seems to be closely related to Tramadol/Ultram.
Nucynta® is available in 50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg strengths
The development of a potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome may occur with use of SNRI products, including Nucynta®, particularly with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs and triptans, and with drugs which impair metabolism of serotonin (including MAOIs). Serotonin syndrome may include mental-status changes (eg, agitation, hallucinations, coma), autonomic instability (eg, tachycardia, labile blood pressure, hyperthermia), neuromuscular aberrations (eg, hyperreflexia, incoordination) and/or gastrointestinal symptoms (eg nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).
Withdrawal symptoms may occur if Nucynta® is discontinued abruptly. These symptoms may include: anxiety, sweating, insomnia, rigors, pain, nausea, tremors, diarrhea, upper respiratory symptoms, piloerection, and rarely, hallucinations.
Tapentadol targets both ascending and descending pathways in one centrally acting oral analgesic
Combines 2 analgesic mechanisms
- Mu-opioid agonist*
- Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI)*
In the near future RDD Center will no doubt hear from patients addicted to this drug and find it hard to withdraw. We will offer an anesthesia detoxification treatment to patients unable to stop this drug without extreme withdrawal.
