Naltrexone Implant


Naltrexone, an opiate blocker, is recommended as part of the aftercare program for rapid anesthesia detox. as it helps to reduce your cravings. Once the procedure is completed, the opiate receptor is clean, and Naltrexone attaches to the now empty receptor to help with cravings.

Rapid Drug Detox recommends the dissolvable Naltrexone implant rather than the pill form because it provides a precise and continuous dosage and denies the individual the power to stop blocking opiates (if you were to use opiates while medicated with Naltrexone, you would not experience the effects of the drug). Naltrexone is non-addictive and does not cause withdrawal when you stop the medication. Rapid Drug Detox generally recommends Naltrexone be discontinued only after a full year of sobriety.

The Naltrexone Implant will entirely dissolve and completely disappear for the size. It does not require removal, as it dissolves entirely. Rapid Drug Detox is one of the very few centers that offer the Naltrexone Implant and we feel it's success in helping our patient's stay clean is very important and we strongly encourage the placement of this small medicated pellet at the time of the anesthesia detoxification procedure. This will ensure the patient has continuous protection without having to worry about taking a pill everyday and the family members will not have to worry about the patient's compliance.
