Methadone Survivor
As with many individuals who have tried to "kick" Methadone so had I on many occasions. I am not free of past drug addiction issues, however I have not "used" street drugs or used alcohol for over 15 years.

After three (3) back surgeries and many spinal injections, it was decided I see a Pain-management specialist. This Doctor started me on 20mgs Methadone/day.

By the time I reached Rapid Drug Detox, (four 4 years later) my daily dose was 100-120mgs/day. I had lost interest in everything in my life. Life it self had become pointless. But, I did the one thing only a survivor can do. I got myself out of a "burning house" and called Rapid Drug Detox and that decision literally saved my life.

All my attempts at "cold turkey" or even the attempts to slowly reduce Methadone intake were impossible. I was ready to use my 45 auto with 200 grain hollow-points to just stop the hell of Methadone withdrawal.

My story is not so different then others on this path to continuous sobriety. But I know from personal experience that everybody I dealt with at the detox center to be extremely professional and compassionate.

Borrow the funds if you need to, but let this wonderful medical staff take care of you. David stayed with me for nearly 12 hours. Jeannie was always and is still always available to me. These guys are trained Emergency Medical Technicians, and they have all the equipment on hand while you are under their care. I can only hope that this center continues to help people like me, they are a true God-send.
