900 MG Hydrocodone a Day
My husband over the years had become hooked on opiates..(hydrocodones, etc..) He started taking them due to the intense back pain he has incurred from several accidents. Long story short, he has been taking them for many years 6 to 7, and the drug caused him to have to take more than he was prescribed just to function a somewhat normal day.
He ended up taking many more than he was suppose to, last count was almost 90 hydrocodones 10’s a day…over 900mg a day. I had no idea; I thought he was taking one or two. I was blown away by the news and how he spent our life savings feeding this expensive addiction. No one knew as he was able to run a normal life. He broke down and asked me for help, he confessed he tried many times to do it alone but the withdrawals were too much to handle to then have to face the company we own and run it. So I went online and found a place in MI called rapid detox center. I called and had the pleasure of speaking to one of the most knowledgeable, and kind nurses that I had ever met. She was available 24/7 and listened to our story with a complete open heart. She explained to us that the opiate addiction could be treated at their facility and my husband would be placed under Anesthesia for about an hour and when he woke up he would be free of opiates. I of course was very skeptical and did tons of research.. The nurse gave me some references to call and we also compared this method to the Waismann method, which as it turned out was basically the same, but 1/3 the price. That of course also raised a red flag to me, but after doing more research I understood the differences. For us, we needed my husband off these drugs and we could not pay triple, plus MI was closer to us than the locations for the Weismann method. After speaking to several references we took the long 14 hr drive to MI and went for it.
My husband’s friend went with us and so he was the one who brought him in, I stayed back at the hotel with our children in a separate room next door. My husband went in that morning and by that afternoon he was opiate free. He was kept at the facility for almost 12 hours due to some hallucinations he was having, but by that evening he was fine and just tired and needed sleep. Also a nurse came to the room and stayed with him along with our friend for an additional 6 hours, and then we had medical staff there which was a physician for the entire night, then paramedics for the rest of the stay, in case we had any problems.
The next day, he told me he could tell he was free of the drugs and it was just like that. He was so happy to be free of them. He is still dealing with some issues with original pain (why he started taking the pain meds in the first place) and side effects of some of the new meds his personal doctor is prescribing him, but nothing like what the opiates did to him. To this day after that he is still opiate free and says he has no desire to take anymore ever. It was the best money he has ever spent. It was $8500 for the procedure and the Naltrexone implant and included everything… no added expenses, anyway for someone hooked on that many opiates it’s really the only way to get off these things. He really could have never done it without this help.
Without going into a lot of detail, I just wanted to say that Rapid Drug Detox was my husband’s life saver. She is an angel and is truly there for you just like it was your mom. She really cares about people. I lost my Mom many years ago and I really connected with her, she is now my friend. She has a very kind heart and truly cares about her patients. She continues to call us to make sure my husband is doing well.
Hope this will help someone like it helped us.
PS: The difference between this and the Suboxone® therapy is after this treatment, you don’t have any opiates left in the receptors, the Suboxone® is an opiate, so you are treating your addiction with the same drug.. We decided that would not be the best approach for my husband.
